Clearing Your Browser Cache

Sometimes new information on portal.io won't display (ex: updates in the catalog) because a cached version is saved on your browser.

Browsers store versions of website in order to load pages faster. If you're having trouble seeing new information on portal.io, clearing your browser cache can often fix the problem. Below are the instructions for clearing your cache on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. 

Safari:

  1. Open the browser.

  2. Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen. 

  3. In the menu that appears, click Preferences.

  4. In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab. 

  5. Click the button Manage Website Data...

  6. In the search bar, type portal.io

  7. Select the result and click Remove.

Chrome: 

  1. Open the browser. 

  2. On your browser toolbar, click the menu icon (vertical ellipses) on the far right.

  3. In the dropdown menu, hover over More Tools.

  4. Click Clear browsing data

  5. In the "Clear browsing data" box, click the checkboxes for Cookies and other site and plug-in data and Cached images and files.

  6. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Choose "beginning of time" to delete everything.

  7. Click Clear browsing data.

Firefox:

  1. Open the browser.

  2. Click History in the Firefox bar at the top left of your screen.

  3. Select Clear Recent History...

  4. On the Time Range to Clear drop down, select Everything to delete all history.

  5. Click Details to choose which elements of history you want to be cleared. (You should at least select Cache from this list.)

  6. Click Clear Now

  7. Exit/close all browser windows and reopen. 

Edge:

  1. Click on the menu button situated in the upper right corner.

  2. Click on Settings.

  3. Under Clear browsing data, click on Choose what to clear.

  4. Check the boxes next to Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files.

  5. Click on Clear.
