Not only is QuickBooks the accounting software of choice for over 80% of Portal users, but it's a key piece of software for most businesses. QuickBooks gives you all the information about the health of your company, helps you pay bills and employees, and helps you make sure you're making a profit! But most dealers aren't accountants, and they tell us they avoid QuickBooks as much as possible. Having a specialized tool for building professional proposals can save you lots of time; but nobody wants to manually enter all of the line items into another software once the job is won.

Portal's QuickBooks integration can be broken down into 3 simple steps:

1 - Connect to QuickBooks Online from your settings page in Portal.

2 - Once a Portal Proposal is Accepted or marked Complete, the QuickBooks icon will show on the Proposal List view (or on the Proposal itself at the top). Simply click the button to push it to QuickBooks:

3 - Portal will then start building your Line Item QuickBooks Estimate. Take a sip of coffee while Portal looks up your customer and items in QuickBooks. Once it's finished, you'll see a grey QuickBooks logo or a green check mark. If Portal needs your help matching a customer or product, you'll get an orange "Input Required" link. Just click the link to answer a few questions.

Once you answer the questions, Portal will finish creating your Estimate in QuickBooks. Click the button again, and you'll launch the actual QuickBooks Estimate in a new window.

The only thing left to do is figure out how you're going to spend all your extra time you have thanks to Portal's QuickBooks integration. Let us know if you have any questions!
